As operators develop challenging applications (e.g. deepwater reservoirs), they require well completions that must operate beyond normal temperature and pressure ranges.
The complex interaction of load, temperature, pressure and environmental conditions make it difficult to design and verify the performance of new equipment using conventional design calculations or modeling.
In some cases, advanced design methods such as strain-based design are required to accommodate the requirements of the hostile service environment. Such unconventional design approaches usually require validation to ensure that all aspects of the operating environment have been considered.
How We Help:
C-FER conducts test programs using custom testing apparatus to simulate the most critical aspects of the specific operating environment.
This typically includes applying complex loading with tension/compression/bending and extreme pressures to 30,000 psi and temperatures up to 350°C (662°F).
Tubing specimens may include exotic materials such as titanium or complex configurations such as vacuum insulated tubing.
Testing programs are typically customized to simulate the specific operating environment and loading conditions that the Operator anticipates in their application.
